Kate Gies' handmade glass beads have intricate detail and brilliant color and are the signature allure of her jewelry. In her Nebraska studio, Gies works each bead from 15 minutes to one hour in the flame before it goes directly into a digitally controlled kiln to be annealed for strength and durability. The beads are then cleaned, inspected and assembled into necklaces, bracelets and earrings. She compliments the natural beauty of the beads with sterling or Bali silver.
